Tutorial: Creating Your First Form

Welcome to FormBuilder! Let's walk through how to quickly create beautiful, functional forms and configure their settings for your team.

1. Launch the Builder

To get started, click the Create Form button in the top navigation bar. This will open the drag-and-drop form editor.

2. Drag and Drop Fields

On the left sidebar, you'll see a variety of field types—from simple Text Inputs to complex Multiple Choice Grids. Simply click on a field or drag it into the center canvas to add it to your form.

Tip: Click on any field you've added to edit its label, placeholder text, and mark whether it is required.

3. Understanding Settings

The Settings tab allows you to customize the behavior of your form:

  • Theme: Apply visual styles, background colors, and typography to make the form match your brand.
  • Template Category: If you are creating a reusable template for your team, you can categorize it here.
  • Status: Switch your form between 'Draft' (hidden) and 'Published' (accessible to responders).

4. AI Form Generation

If you have an AI API key configured, you can describe the form you need in plain text, and FormBuilder will automatically generate the fields and layout for you!

  1. Go to the Dashboard.
  2. Ensure your API Key is configured in Settings.
  3. Use the AI Prompt box to ask for a specific form layout.
